MR VEITCH AT NAPIER.

(pubs association tbleobav.) NAPIER, May 14. Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P. for Wanganui, addressed .about eight 'Hundred people here to-night in continuation of the Liberal-Labour campaign throughout New Zealand. Hi» remarks consisted of a criticism of the Massey Government oh numerous mutters, and an advocacy of his party's policy. During his address Mr Veitch received.a good hearing, but at question time lie was peppered with hostile questions from a strong Labour station, and repeatedly had to appeal for a fair hearing when giving his aisswers. The following motion was ~ declared carried nrnidst Labour enthusiasm:— '"flint this meeting of Napier citizens is disgusted with the palpable hypocrisy of the official Opposition styling itself the Liberal-Labour Party that voted in nearly every case in support of the -Massey Government they were elected to oppose, and condemn the policy and attitude of Mr Wilford and his followers, and express our Continued confidence in the New Zealand Labour Party, with Mr H, E. Jiolland as its head." Bubsaquently a vote of thanks to Mr Veitch, moved by Mr G. McKay, M.P., for Hawko's Bay, was carried.
