LIFE-SAVING.
SUMNER CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Sumner Life-Saving Club was held on Thursday evening, when Mr T. Newburgh presided. Correspondence] was received from the Borough Council relative to the Anzac Day service. It was agreed that members should support the service, those present indicating 1 their intention of being present. The Sumner Football Club wrote applying for tho use of the pavilion for trainingpurposes. It was decided to grant the useof the pavilion subject to the same conditions as last year. Resignations were accepted from two members who have left tho district. The secretary reported that the Club had won the Ray Blank Cup and Benson Shield, and had also won the inter-borough contest. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange a date for the annual dance. It was agreed to have the specifications for the additions to tho pavilion amended. It was reported that a number of members had been examined for the Society's awards and that a further class was being prepared.
