N.Z. LABOUR PARTY.
to the Ecrroit of "th? tress." Sir, —I supposo ono should apologise) for replying to such stuff as appeared over the title "True Blue" in vour issue of the 2nd. To refer to a gentleman elected by sixteen M.P.'s to be their leader as a "boss" is merelv impolite, and simply does not fit. If he had rushed across the floor of the House and shaken his fist under the nose of one of his followers who had voted on his own judgment, and thereby got into the wrong lobby, there might be some justification for such a term. As regards the difference between the British Labour Party and that of New Zealand, which your correspondent imagines he sees, it simply does not exist. Objective, ethics, philosophy, and principles, as well as the literature on all questions, are identical, and anyone not conversant with these facts is entirely unqualified to discuss this subject. But the funniest part of "True Blue's" altogether' funny letter is where he fancies the two "Peers" in the Labour Cabinet arc there for intellectual purposes. A little knowledge of the British Constitution would have saved him making this ridiculous error. ■ —Yours, etc., J. N. lIAELE, Official Correspondent, Ashburton Branch, N.Z.L.P. Winslow, February 4th, 1924.
