A motion of condolence was passed with Mr A. \V. Owles and family in tnc death of Mr Gcorgo Owles.
Tbo Mayor, speaking with reference to tho proposed now Post Office building, said that matters were not altogether stagnant. Ho extended a. wolcomo on behalf of tho Councillors to Cr. Ward, who bad recently gone through a period of illness. Correspondence was received from tho Public AVork3 Department regarding the apportionment of tho cost o: maintenance of Page's road. The Stato Advances Department advised thut a further application of .J2OOO for constructing drainage outfalls could not bo considered before April next. Letters from the Municipal Electrical Department dealing with tho .proposed substations were referred to tho committee. Tho Department also forwarded a list of new Btreet lights proposed to bo erected, together with, the estimated cost of tho work. ■
The Heathcote County Council advised that a .contract had been let fcr the kerbing and channelling of Pago's road, from Shortland street to tho big drain .it Bromley, and that ; t wa3 proposed to debit tho Council and tho City Council with a percentage of tho coat, as determined by tho first, commission relative to the construction of Pago's road.
It was decided to advise tho Tramway Board that steps had been taken to prevent cars from being left on the Esplanade. Tho Tramway Board forwarded a statement showing that the cost of street watering New Brighton bridge to Kookwood avenue, from January 17th to 23th, was £7 Us.

Scott drew attention to tho matter of drainago in Baker street. On tho motion of Cr. Chivers, it was decided to prosocuto threo young men for riding cycles on tho Esplanade enclosure. Sitting as tho Kawhiti'Domain BoaTd, the annual report was adopted. Tho application of J. McCrcanor for tho use of the Domain for tho purpose of a "Domain Fete" on March Bth was granted. It was decided to tako no further action with regard to tho £lO handed to the Board by the Croquet Club. Sitting as the New Brighton Domain Board, the annuel report was read and adopted, and minor business dealt with.

It was decided to us? any money collected at tec band concert on February 14th for tho purpose of providing extra conipment for tho amusement of juveniles, an adjustablo and safe slide appliance being sulfated, the same as- was in use at other places in tho Dominion.
