KEEP TO THE LEFT.

TO TUB KDITOE OX "lllJi PBKSS." Sir,—The City Council are at last to pat in force the "Keep to the Left" by-law. As one who has tried keeping to the left, I wish to state that as things are at present, it is quite impossible to do so; the public have been educated to keep to the right, and now this is altered, and the left is the rule, the people do not grasp.it. ■ The Council will have little difficulty in enforcing the rule if they station a few extra policemen for a week or two at* the various street corners to direct with a simple "to the left, please." "To the left" will become a haßit in no time; the idea of marking out the pavement is quite unnecessary. Few peoole looK at the pavement, especially when m a crowd.—Yours, etc., ttPT
