WHARENUI SCHOOL.
♦- —— At the Wharenui School Committee's monthly meeting there were present—Messrs J. J. Staples (chairman), T. W. Stephenson, T. M. Ford, A. Staunton, G. J. IY-iford, S. F. Wilson, and C. W. Barrcll. An apology was received for the absence of Mr J. Singleton Tiie cliairuian, secretary, and Me&srs Stephenson and Wilson were appointed 'a sub-committee to confer vitn thi Board's architect regarding tcjool ground improvements. It was decided to purehasa a first aid outfit for the school. The Education Board will be aaked to fix February Ist as the date for re-opening the school alter the Christmas holidays, owing to there being five or six new teachors coining, who would take up duties on that da;e. Arrangements were made for the Black and White Sunshine Players' concert in aid of the prize fund, and the headmaster was authorised to purchase the prizes, which will be distiibuted at the school on '"breajving-up" day. The attendance for the month averaged 365 or 96 per cent, of the roll numoef. Mr E. Gibson was appointed caretaker in succession to Mr "W. Burt, resigned.
