FENDALTON CLUB. Thero wits a good attendance at the opening of the Fendalton Swimming Club's season on Saturday, when the president, ill Alawson Stewart, s>erformed the opening ceremony. Ho complimented the club on its progress and more especially on the fact that it had providied a new well for filling the bath in much faster time than was possible before. RICHMOND CLUB. The Richmond Amateur Swimming Club helrl a carnival on Saturday, when Mr ii. Bjssett declared the season open. TEMUKA CLUB. The annual meeting of the mine Club was held in the iire Bug e S on Friday evening, Mr A. N. Hancock (president) being m thp chair. A letter was read from the secretary, .New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association (South Canterbury Centre), regarding payment of affiliation fees to tho Association. This matter was left to the new committee to deal with. * The annual report was aB follows: The Beacon was rather more successful than lor several years past. The club had lost two members in Messrs Grant and S. Craven, und also a staunch supporter in Mrs Coombe, all of whom took a keen interest in swimming. The balance-sheet shows a credit balance of 14s sd. The committee thanked Mrs Ccomba,' Dr. Hogg, Dr. Mclnness, Messrs ICeys and A. 12. Smith for donations. The president said that although they had a credit balance of £26, it was due to savings when the club waa in a better position betore the war. ' Kow it was barely holding its own, and this year there would bo rather heavy expenses for repairs. In reply to a question, it was stated that subecriotions last "year amounted to £3 10a. E. Smith, W. «T. Keys, J. Burns, T. Gunnion, A. N. Hancock, W. Blyth, and K. Gibb; cap Win, Mr A. Williams; secretary, Mr E. Lawrie; committee, Messrs W. Blyth G. Pready, R. Malcolm, A. E. Foote, T. C. Simes, A. N. Hancock, E. Norton, D. Cain, T. Histen, Eric Martin, T. Langford; handicappers, Messrs R. Malcolm, E. G. Scrimshaw, A. "Williams, and \V. J. Keys. Mr Hancock said he intended to give cup 3 to be competed for by schoolboys, and schoolgirls. Mr R. Gibb also signified his intention of giving a trophy. The opening day was fixed for December 13th (Thursday). It was decided: "That the committee arrange with the headmaster of the District High School for a race for school children on the opening day.'" It was resolved that letters be sent to the authorities in charge of the District High School and Convent Schoof regarding the nuisance caused by the children throwing paper into and about the bath 3.

It was resolved that the subscription be ihe same aa last year: 53 for adults and 3s Cd for children.
