"If you have lost the lore and respect of your mother, you have lost everything that is worth tuppence in this world." These words were .addressed by Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M., to a hoy, * fourteen years of age, who appeared before him in the Juvenile Court at New Plymouth, charged with breaking, entering, and theft from a dwelling. The mother applied to have j the boy sent rrway, and he was accordingly committed to the Wanganui Receiving Home.
