OBITUARY.
ALBERT CHEVALIER. (BT OA.BM-—PBHSS ABSOCIATIOir—COPTMOHT.) UUSTBAiIAM AND K.Z. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, July 11. The death is announced of Albert Chevalier, the comedian. [Albert Chevalier, one of the bestknown comedians on the English stage, was born on March 21st, 1861. He had Italian, French, and Welsh blood in his veins. His first appearance in public was as a child of eight. As an actor on the legitimate stage he was for many years associated with Mr and Mrs Kendal, Sir John Hare, Sir A. W. Pinero, T. W. Robertson, Sir Squire and Lady Bancroft, and John Clayton. He was for years connected with the music- halls, and had since toured with his own entertainment in England and America. He gave over 1000 Chevalier recitals at the Queen's Hall, London. He was the author of over one hundred sketches, monologues, and plays.] REV. P. BATTEY. (PUSH ASSOCIATION TBLIGaAX.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 12. The death occurred somewhat unexpectedly a morning of the itev. Percy Battey, the Wesleyan minister at ISew Plymouth, who was recently transferred from llotorua. He came from England to Kelson in 1910. The late jMr Battey served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Belgium from 1917-18, and was appointed to llotorua on his return.
