CHRISTCHURCH LIEDERTAFEL.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Chrfatohurch Liedertafsl was held on Tuesday evening in the Scottish Society's rooms, Mr 0. D. Morris presiding over a good attendance of members. An apology for absence, 'owing to influenia, was. received from, the secretary, Mr B. S. Knox. The annual report stated that the year had been a very successful one, particularly in the matter of part singing, which showed a marked improvement on previous years. This was due to a large extent to the great pains taken by the conductor, Mr A. The past year had been also noteworthy for the foot that members had gone out more to assist, particularly so in connexion with the Industrial Exhibition, at which several concerts were given and were, apparently, very much enjoyed. Members also journeyed to Kaiapoi to assist the locally formed male voice choir; their assistance was greatly appreciated by the members of the Kaiapoi Society. The finances of the Liedertafel were in ft healthy condition, the year ending with no liabilities and a fair amount to credit. The chairman, in moving the adoption of tho report and balance sheet, congratulated members on the success of their activities during the year. ' The discussion which followed waa of a free and friendly character. The report and balance sheet wen* sdopted. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr C. D. Morris; vice-presidente, Dr. T.
