CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS CLUB. The general committee of the Christchurch Sports Club met last night. Present —Messrs T. E. .gobson (chairman), G. Biltcliff, W. S. E. Moyle, P. Grant, F. G. Kidd, F. R. Jones, P. C. Crooke, R. S. Draper, M. Barnett and G. Hutchison. It was decided to get into communication with Mr McDonald with reference to the matter of arranging a jociceys' boxing championship aa a preliminary to theVmatch between McCleary and Heeney. In regard to the North Canterbury Sports Club's request that the club should give assistance towards getting the applicant club registered, it was decided to reier tha matter to tho New Zealand Council, with a recommendation for sympathetic consideration. The Deputy Commissioner of Stamps wrote in answer to tho Club's memorandum relative to tha payment of amusements lax by amateur sports bodies. He stated that the matter had been referred to the Minister of Finance, and the Club's representations would be given full consideration when the qu6Jtion of introducing amending legislation during the present session came up.
