Rockefeller is s'till probably the richest man In the world. Yesterday he celebrated his 84th birthday at his home in a local suburb. Mr Rockefeller's life twenty-five years ago was despaired of owing to his illhealth. His physician to-day predicts ho will live to bo 100 yeara of nge by reason of his rigid diet and simplo life. He rises early, plays a fow holes of golf every day, wears warm clothing, and has congenial friends. Mr Rockefeller on each birthday has & band concert, but as yesterday was Sunday, he went instead to a church which his funds built, and distributed among the children fifteen new fivecent pieces. Formerly it was his custom to distribute ten-cent pieces or bright pennies. Mr Rockefeller, when asked for a statement, said: "There are too many people who talk in this world. I had better be silent." He has distributed 500,000,000 dollars in various philanthropic :worI"S in recent yeara.
