PECULIAR SHOOTING CASE.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TSLEORAM.) AUCKLAND, July 5. Pau Te Paa, a Maori returned soldier, who was looking for a horse in the bush at Kaitaia, was shot by an unseen person, thirty pellets entering his face. Three lodged in one eye. There was also a number in his chest and shoulder. It is feared he will lose the sight of one eye. A search is proceeding for the Native suspected of the shooting.
