FORESTERS' LODGE, GREENDALE.

After nine years of good solid work put into Court Richard Stephens A.0.P., at Grcendale, the efforts have been rewarded by the reception of the certificate of registration granted by the Canterbury United District of the New Zealand Ancient Order ot Foresters. To celebrate the occasion, the members of tho Executive Council since the formation of the Court were invited to a special meeting of the Society, held in the Orange Hall on Tuesday evening. The district was well represented, members being present from Chnatchurch, Lyttelton auuAshburton. After the ordinary monthly business was concluded, the visitors were heartily welcomed by the C.R. The I.P.D.C.R. (Brother (Horn©), in tho unavoidable absence of ' tho 11. C.R., presided over a good company of members and visitors. Alter expressing] thanks for the cordial welcome and the honour conferred upon him in occupying the chair, and keen pleasure in being present on such an auspicious occasion, he made a presentation to Brother Kay of a Forester's Medal in recognition of initiating the largest number of new members for the year 1922. The permanent district secretary, Bro. 0. Jacobsen, then presented the Court with the Dispensation, and in congratulating the Order on the attainment oi this high priviSegc,j paid a warm tribute to the orhcialo 'and members for the splendid work which had been done, often in the face of depressing circumstances. The Dispensation was received or. behalf of the Court by tho C.R. Bros, W. Dean and H. F. Taego responded 014 behalf of the Court. Brother Coleman, P.D.C.R., gave a very interesting address, dealing with general topics connected with Forestry, and congratulating the Court on its very nni> achievement. It was decided to place on record a motion expressive of appreciation to the founder of the Court, Bro. H. Stephens, for the splendid efforts made by him in the interests of tho Lodge. At the close of the more formal proceedings, the members and visitors were entertained at supper. Bro. W. Dean presided. The meal over a number of toasts were honoured!. The toast of "The King" was proposed by the chairman. "The District Officers" was moved by the chairman, and was responded to by' Bro. Kerr, D.C.R. "Forestry" was moved by Bro. H. J. Taege, the response being given by Brcs. Jacohsen, D.S., and F. J. Pbaup, P.D.C.R. Brother. F. Cullen moved that of "The Visitors,' Bros. Kerr and Robinson, of Ashburton, responding. "Our Officers" was mGved byißi'is. A. C. Read. Bro. N. Kay, C.R., responded "The Ladies of Grcendale" was moved by Bro. G. Dean and responded to by Bro. S. Worsfo'd. Apologie3 were received from Bros. W. 0. Marks, tistrict treasurer. A. K. Marks, P.D.C.R., and E. Rudkin, P.D.C.R.
