CONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES.
A oombineS meeting of the three Congregational Churches of the city was held in Trinity Social Hall on Wednesday to form a Congregational Young Peoples' Associution. The pastor of Trinity Church, the Hev. H. J. Huffudine, occupied the chair. TJie chairman outlined the work done in the North Island, and the great success achieved. He said thov needed an organisation amongßt their churches to bring thorn into a closer fellowship than had previously existed. Ihe Kev Clyde Carr "aid that, representing the youn" people of the Linwood Church, he heartily supported the movement, and illustrated the great success of the Bible Class movement among the other churches. Something wa.s needed to bring the young people into°the church work, and the society would develop the intellectual, moral, and spiritual side of the young people. Mr H. Sturge, representing the Tennyson street Churoh, said they were vory much concerned what to do with tho children. After a certain Age they drifted from the Church, I tit a good strong young people's organisation, like the Auckland °Socicty, would be a great help. The chairman moved: "That we form a branch of the New Zealand Young Peoples' Congregational Association." That to organiae this branch a committee, consisting of three membora or more from each church, these to be ejected to attend a meeting called for that purpose. That the secretary of the District Committee be advised of tha appointments, and be convener of tho committee. Tho motion was carried. At the conclusion oT the business supper was handed round by the ladies, aftor which games wero indulged in, bringing a. most successful evening to a close.
