LEGAL ACTION TAKEN,
(87 CABLE—PABSS ASSOCIATION —COPYWOHT.) (AT7STBALIAJI . ASD H.R. . CABLB AafIOCXATXOff.) (Received July 4th, 7.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 4. The trouble .among the artists over the selection of pictures for the exhibition of Australian art in London, has become acute. Two Victorian members of the selection committee have secured an interim injunction to July 10th, on behalf of some of the Victorian artists who are dissatisfied with the selections, to prevent the New South Wales Society of Artists despatching Victorian pictures to the exhibition, and ako for the delivery of the pictures to the owners. In the meantime efforts are being made to secure a compromise.
The selections have resulted jn much heated correspondence in the Melbourne and Sydney Press, the inclusion of several samples of one New South Wales artist's work coming in for particularly severe criticism.
