REVUE, COMEDY, ROMANCE

THE "PEEP SHOW" EXTRAVAGANZA. The box plan for the J. C. Williamson pro uction of **The Peep Show" will he opened at The Bristol Piano Company on Saturday next. On Tuesday next, at the Theatre Royal, J. C. illiamson, Ltd., will present their spectacular revue extravaganza, "The Peep Show, which is in nineteen scenes. The dramatic critic of th- "Sydney Herald" sa\s.| The revue is ; good entertainment nnd is strong in spec?-. ..;ar episodes, with many variations of see:.cry and costume; In several cases fanciful ideas are ably developed. A Persian haliet concerning the jealousy of a despotic ruler is brilliant with strangely-shaped costumes and head-dresses of the kinds favoured in the designs of lialvst and Dulac, and there is an equallv background. 'My Lady's Dressing -able introduces personifications of toilet articles. In 'Down Dickens Street' many laminar characters step out of the volumes of the novelist in quaint and colourful costumes of a hundred years ago. In 'The Song Shop' • former music-hall favourites seem to return to give the choruses, patter, and dances of their old numbers—chiefly of the e.'irlv and mid 'nineties. Seventeen 'peeps' bring other good scenes, spectacular or harmonious, or both, with plenty of songs and dances.'' Besides Mr J. H. Wakerieid, a notable English comedian, the company includes Miss Mona Magnet, a brilliant English comedienne, and Miss Phvllis Beadon, young English soprano; Messrs .Tack Cannot, Wiliam Reeve, Joe Brennan, ICdglv and Dave, and Misses Daisy Yates, Ida Newton, Rene Barlee. A big feature is the wonderful act of Mello- and Nello, two Continental comedy acrobats.

A special feature of 4 the inspiriting entertainment is said to be the ballets—the most delightful of which are "The Powder Puff" ballet, "The Pierrot" divertissement. "The Persian Ballet," and the Dance of Holland. The solo dancers are Miss Phyllis Amery and Mr Frederick Mackay. Miss Mona Magnet, Miss Phyllis Beadon, and Mr J. H. Wakefield, all London artists of distinction, will make their first appearance here.
