Owing to inclement weather, the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's races were postponed till to-day and Monday. Although at the moment the climatic conditions savour more of winter than autumn, a turn of line weather is overdue, given which the annual meeting of the Amberiey Racing Llub at Xuccartou to-day should be a conspicuous success. The misty conditions 01 the past week will have made the track holding, but that should not detract from me quality of the racing. f- u e inside enclosure at ilk-canon, which will be in use, t ruvidea the maximum of comfort auu convenience, and. local and country sportsmen will be able to witness the racing under metropolitan conditions. Transport facilities by train and tram will, as usual, be at the service of the visitors to Riccarton. A. Hendriksen has sold his two-year-old Copra to Mr I''. Smith, of Christchurch, a patron of R. \V. Frank's stable. Copra is a chestnut gelding of the nuggety type, by the imported, sire Great Audubon from Cocoanut, dam of Moneymaker, Colenut, Cocoaline, Justice, Cocoa, and King Cole Junior. He is engaged in the New Zealand Sapling Stakes at Ashburton next month, and the principal three-year-old class events next season, and the price paid is a substantial one. The local sportsman Mr M. O'Brien has purchased the trotting gelding Pete Peter, and the son of Pete.reta will race in his interest at Aucldanu to-day. MARLBOROUGH R.C.'S AUTUMN MEETING. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
