CABLE ASSOCIATION) LONDON, April 25. la the House of Lords, Lord Carson aslced whether a demobilised officer, now resident in Dublin, had been ..refused a passage to Canacla on the ground that he was a resident of the Free State. The Duko of Devonshire replied that the Oversea Settlement Committee under the Empire Settlement Act could not make grants to residents of Ireland. This was provided by an Order-in-Council, which could be varied. He would endeavour to secure a variation of the order. CARRYING OF FIREARMS. LONDON, April 25. An official decree authorises the granting of permits to persons permanently resident in Dublin to carry arms, as highway robberies by gunmen have lately prevailed. EXECUTION OF REBELS. (Received April 26tli, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 26. Reginald Hat he way, James Mclnyray, and John Greaney were executed at Tralee. Hatheway, a deserter from the East' Lancashire Regiment, was captured in the Kerry cav© siege.
