Painting the lily must stop in Rome. The Eternal City now applies the pure food law to flowers, and henceforth artificially coloured roses, carnations, and lilies may no more be exhibited on the picturesque flower stands of Rome. Such unnatural creations -will in future come under the heading of "hiked products,^ 1 and their sellers be deprived of lioeused.
