MARATHAN DANCING.
POLICE INTERVENE. (BT CABLE PRESS ASSOCimOH COPISIOHT.) (AUSTBALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received April 17th, 7.23 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 16. Although Miss Magdalene Williams danced a new world's record of 65 hours 53 minutes without police interference, and the Chicago health authorities declared they would not interfere with anybody wishing to danoe tTiemselves to death, the New York police ordered! three couples to leave a dance hall, but the dancers, undaunted, waltzed to the sidewalk, then up an improvised ramp into, a motor-truck equipped with a gramophone which discoursed inspiration while the truck was ferried across the Hudson to Fort Lee, New Jersey, whose Mayor ordered them to leave the town. Meanwhile, the dancers continue their Marathon upon the motor truck floor pending a search for a more hospitable town. The public everywhere are thoroughly aroused, and it is believed unlikely that the authorities will tolerate a continuance, but the dance managers are adamant, declaring that the contestants will finish in gaol if necessary.
