Five hundred and fifty Irishmen who arrived steerage in th? Carniania with British and Free State passports, were declared by several of their number to be members of the Irish Republican Army, who left * because they were weary of the turmoil and fighting that lead to nowhere. Several intimated that a lull in the fighting could be expected shortly, although they firmly declared that the Irregulars had not given up the fight against the Free Stato.
