CHURCH OF ENGLAND HOSPITAL.

. - to tee anrros or "wis raws." | Sir,—Tho Sites Committee 'of the j Church of England Hospital Enscntivc | have had considerable difficulty in on- \ taining a suitable site, and have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to advertise their wants in the coiuans of your paper, lienoo we desire to direct the attention of your readers to that advertiseraejit. This letter is to explain the reasons which have made this step necessary, and so far as it is possible to ta&© our people into our confidence. We have had various sites under consideration. In particular yery valuable ones bavo been offered ue by Sir R. -Heaton Rhodes and byj Mr J, E. M. Rountree. . Tbase latter are, however, outside the drainage area: this, we are afraid, will disqualify tfaeni for our purposes. We-want to emphasise • that we still hope that someone of oar people will be moved to give us a eit© within the drainage area. Our secretary, Mr 3. F. Collins, 81 Hereford street, will be glad to give any particulars desired. We ask,., then; for' such an endowment of land. Failing thiB t we want to get into touch with someone wEo will 6ell us a sufficient.iarea at its market value, not more. We have been deahnff with various owners of suitable sites, but unfortunately the values .placed upon them exceed our anticipations'. The asea we want must be at least three chains wide and deep. Before •buying any section, we wish to be sure that we have made our wants known by full publicity; to omit any necessary step would 'lie to lay ooxseiyea open to the, reproach of not having troubled to inform Hie rrablic of the facts and necessities of tS© case: We are determined to .conduct the business of thi3 enterprise as wo womld wish our own business conducted, and we shall take every precaution; to satisfy ourselves and our supporters that the affaire of this Hospital are in business hands. Our money must bring us its full value.

We shall he greatly obliged if you will publish this letter and so help tis to draw, attention to the advertisement which anwars in another par? of your paper. "We have been working hard, if silently, and we feel that this matter of si to i& urgent.—Yotirs, etc., J. RUSSELL 'WILFOMX Christ's College, ; ' . March 7th, 1923.
