The Calm arrived yesterday' afternoon from Wellington, and ia to sail to-day for Bluff, Dunedin. and Timaru. ' The auxiliary schooner Zita ia expected to arrive to-morrow from Whanga-pe with a cargo of timber. The Westmoreland! sailed yesterday for Dnnedtn to complete discharge of her West of England cargo. She wul proceed later to Blufi, Wellington, and Auckland for loading to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. She is to sail from Auckland about February I6th for London, via Monte, Video and Las Palm&a. The. Arawa, at present loading and) discharging at Lyttelton, is to leave here next Wednesday for Picton and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on February 10th, and is to sail at daybreak c|l February 16th for Southampton and London, via Panama. The Federal Company announces that the Kentucky is now loading at New York. She will leave there on February 15th for Auckland, Wellington, Waneanui, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Dnnedin, Melbourne, and •Sydney, and should arrive at Auckland about March 28th. Cabled ad-vice states that the Peshawur, which sailed from Avonmcuth on January Bth with cargo for discharge at Auckland), Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, passed Panama, on January 25th, and is due at Auckland on February 16th.

Heads. The crew am safe and are leaving for Auckland to-day. The Edna was owned by Nobelg Explosive Company and was carrying exploeives to Greymouth. Duncan McLean, Ltd. axe the Greymouth agents for the Edna, whi«h had on board SOP cases of gelignite consigned to Greymouth. The Edna- was commanded by Captain Burke. ■

The dispute about the manning of the Waitomo was settled, the company deciding to engage the flame number as previously, and to deal .with the reduction question later. NEW TUBBINE POB MAORI. A new turbine for the ferry steamer Maori was discharged from the overasa, steamer Otarama. at Port Chalmers on Thursday. Tie turbine was shipped at Liverpool. It weigh* about thirty tons, and the sheer lega were requisitioned to remove it from the steamer's hold. It* turbine will be installed in the Maori when, eke goes to Port Chalmers to undergo anoual overhaul.
