When the White Star liner Homeric l§ft Cherbourg recently for New York, what is said to be tne most valuable hat in the world was on board. Mile. Ceoilie feorel, of the Comedie Francaise, was a passenger in the Homeric on ner way to tour the United Stutes and Canada. With her were the costumes for the fi«j plays in which she will appear. This wardrobe included a hat in gold lace, the brim trimmed with a ring of diamonds and the crown studded with emeralds. The hat alone is understood to have been insured for £20,000.
