The burning of the Sulpician Church at Oka, in the province of Quebec, one of the several recent fires in Catholic churches, diselose'd the fact that the Mayor, Mr Martin, recently received several communications signed "Ku-Khix-Klanj" claiming responsibility for the Montreal University fire a fortnight ago, and threatening to burn other Koman Catholic buildings. The St. Boniface fire, in which eight students lost their lives, followed shortly afterwards. The Montreal fire, fortunately, only did slight damage. [St. Bohiface College, the oldest educational institution in the horth4vest of Canada, was destroyed by fire, -which resulted in the death of eight students aftd injury to 20 others. Two hundred pefsbns wete asleep in the building when the fire broke out. Many jumped fforft the Windows. The famous Jesuit library, attached to the college, was also destroyed.]
