BAVARIA BEFUSES TO APOLOGISE

The newspaper "Vorwaerts" reports that the Bavarian Premier has resolveo! not to sign the letter of apology required by tbo Allies in connexion with the attacks oh officers. He is visiting Berlin to consult the Chancellor. *Later. Herr Cuno's Cabinet conferred witn the Bavarian and other State Premiers regarding the Allies' demands arising out of incidents in Bavarian towns. The Bavarian Government 1 refused to sign an apology. [A message from Paris on December Ist said: —The Foreign Office states that the Ambassadors' Council demands from Germany before December 10th reparations for injuries to Allied officers at Stettin, Passau, and Ingoldstadt, that the Bavarian Premier must forward an'apology, and that Paesau and Ingoldstadt must each pay half a million gold marks. Failure to complv will mean the seizure of a million gold marks from the Bavarian revenues.]
