Liberal candidates at the forthcoming elections include the following New Zealanders: —Lieut.-Colonel B. C. Freyburg, V.C., for Cardiff; Mr Percy Harris, barrister, for Bethnal Green; Mr A. Hillary, for Harwich; and Dr. W. A. Chappie, ex-M.P. for Dumfries.

Lieut.-Colonel B. C. Freyburg, V.C., C.M.G., D.5.0., was bom in London in 1890. Ho spent his early years in New Zealand, and was eduonted at Wellington College. He aerved with great distinction in the Great War, and rose to be Brigadier-General with the 29th Division. He was wounded ten times, and in addition to the jßcoraltiona mentioned above was awarded two bars to his D.S.O. and was mentioned ia despatches six tinies. Mr Percy Harris was born ip London and called to the Bar in 1899. He spent three yeare in New Zealand. Ho represented the Harborough IMvision of Leicestershire in the House of Commons from 1916 till 1918. Ifcr. W. A. Chappie, M-Ku.JWR.Wni. at Alexandra, Otago, in 1864, and married a daughter of the late Mr T. Turnbull, of Wellington. He practised as a surgeon in Wellington till 1900, and was for some time M. P. for Tuapeka.. He sat iii the House of rnons ns Liberal member for Stirlingshire from 1910 till 1918..
