Another landmark in the city will rlisaDDear to-day—that is the watchtower on the old Chester street Fire Brigade Station. A portion of it dismantled yesterday, and the remainder should be down by this afternoon. The east portion of the building was taken down some time ago and this will permit of a walk going round to the Colombo street bridge. An opening from this bridge will be made shoitlv, and thus another obstacle will • be removed in the continuous walks along the river banus.. The outlook was bad enough before, but the addition of the corrugated iron only intensified the ugliness, and scarcely harmonised with the scheme of beautifying which luvs been carried ont by the River Improvement Committee.
