HAERIEBS' OLUB FOBTVTFiP.
' A meeting thoa(9. interested in tie formation of a Harriers' Club in Christchufch was' held last evening. Mr C. S. McUully presided over a . fair attendance. Mr MoCuily said that the idea was to have a iiaxnei's' Ciub which should assist athletes in- keeping lit throughout . the winter, m order to' luake a good start in the spring.. In other centres tnexe were two or' three Harrier Ciubs, but it was . thought better to start with one club in Christcnurch. ■ : •Xt was decided that the ciub- be called, th® Chris tchurch Harriers' • and Amateur iotio C»ub; that the olub cater lor field games as well as cross-country anain object of the club), and that the subscription be 6s for seniors (over 18 years of age), and 2s 6d ior juniors. It was decided that the olub's season extend irom April Ist to September 80th. Officers' were elected ' as. follows:—President, 'MrC. S. McCully; vice-presidents, Messrs M. Ballin, "W. Flewellyn, C. H. Taylor", sen., C. S. Thomas; club captain, Mr G. Crimp; deputy-club oaptain, Mr G. M. Morrison; hon. secretary, Mir C. H. Taylor; hon treasurer, Mr G. G. Lockwood; oommittee, Messrs A. W. Page, J. H. Haider, J. White, C. K. Flanagan, F. Mace, F. P. Fry. It was decided to. hold the first run on May 27th, at a place to be selected by tho committee. Considerable' enthusiasm was shown by members, and the first meeting of the Harriers' Club should, be a decided success.
