A Jelalabad newspaper, commenting on this report, does not view the activities of the Turkish adventurer with, much enthusiasm. Rumours of his arrival 'have been current in Afghanistan for «omo weeks, but it was previously thought that tiiev were nieaut merely to hem-ten tho frontier tribes who wcro dismayed by an Afghan proclamation statins; they must not expect any sympathy in their activities against tho British.
