Jliss Po * was tho more aggressive, and deserved In the combined doubles Giwnwood snd Missi Blosam defeated Shopped and -l" Wako in straight sets. The winners p»a>c a very sound game. c In the rcien'fl sing'es OHivicr defeated e , in straight sets. This game was a exhibition of tennis, and Seay is *o be c gratulaied on tho splendid ho pu against his more experienced °PP°" e ?J' OHivier played with precision, and .del ghtful short volleys and beautifully p drives were a feature of his game. , made some truly great shots, and cco y e T c many balls which seemed well out of J reach. He drove hard to OHivier 3 bcjc hand at every opportunity, and pla>ed only game which could have brought success. It must have been heart-breaking 1 have beautiful drives returned with monotonous regularity. In tho men'e doubles Greenwood and Clark defeated OHivier and G<*=.S by threa sets to one. Some sparkling net rallies with OHivier were among the best, seen 011 the championshop court this season. Clark supported Greenwood well. His service waa well-placed and effective. Goss waa slightly indisposed, and was hardly up to hi' 3 best form. OHivier played brilliantly on occasion, driving between his two opponents with great* effect, but he was not bo consistent as usual. On the conclusion of tho men's doubles, Mr H. D. Andrews, president of the United Club, presented the trophies won in the handicap and championship tournaments.
