EXECUTIVE MEETING^ .j.. .... A meeting of the executive of She Christchuroh Returned Soldiers' Association was held last night, tie KoV. W. Walker ,pre•iding. An application from the Boss sub-branch to be transferred from Hokitika to Christcluroh was agreed to. It was decided to hold * meeting, of .cxImperttd Boldiers on Thursday advise them of tho <beneats they at present entitled to from various; Government departments, and to organise them as members of the BjSA.. The secretary .presented a report on a de-pnta-tion- to Oa&inet last week on the subjeot' Of "Increased pension* to »oiaiei'a'. widows, and to disabled soldiers. This was discussed at'length, and tho meeting expressed) its displeasure at the reply of the Prime Minister who, after recognising the justice of the claim, did not accede to an increase in the pensions. The executive was stilt convinced that the strongest possible pressure should 'be 'brought to bear on the Government in the matter. It was, reported that •W. "W, Craig, a member of the Association, had died in the Corhmere Military Sanatorium yesterday, and a motion of with his widow and relatives was carried. It was resolved to purchase. Christmas presents for returned soldiers in the Sunnyside Mental Hospital, and to visit them, at Christmas.
