JUSTICES ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Justices of the Peat*' Aesociation was held . last night, Mr H. Holland presiding; Correspondence was read from the Wellington Justices Association, which the, secretary was. instructed to reply, to. Eighteen new members wero enrolled. EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL. A meeting of the East Chrietchuich School Committee was Wield on Monday, Mr Harvey presiding. Correspondence was received from the Board udvibing that llis* E. M. Clague. and Mies L. Bean'had been appointed "assistant luistjcescs; from the Minister of Education and the Board, stating that the inaiter of the proposed District High School at East Christchurch had been held.in abeyance until the new school at Phillipstnwn is finished and ready for occupation, from the East Christchurch 'Amateur Sttimining Club, 'applying for the it3e of tho bath, arid from the general manager of the Tramway Board quoting the coat of ei>2ciii care "for picnic purposes. It was decided to grant tlia LC.C.A.S. Club the use of the bath on term* similar io llftw of last year. The chairman said it was with great regret he had received the resignation of Miss Chaplin, who hae accepted an appointment at the formal School. She had i proved a most capable head for. the past, fourteen years and would carry with her the best 1 wishes of the girls and members of tho committee. The heads of- the, staff reported that the attendance for the month had been good, the average at the Main School being 684 out of a roll of 727 at tlif. Main Infant School, ;.U out of a roll of 3C6, «hd at the South Belt 111 out of a toll of 127. -The chairmen reported that the money ior tho picnic and prize fund had come in well, -and it was decided to hold the former at ACotukarar® on ThurfJay, tho 15th. inat.
