PAPANUI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
ORDINATION OP REV. T. B. BICKERSTAFPThe ordination of the Iter. T. B. Bickerstaff to the charge of the Papanui Presbyterian Church took place yesterday, and the service was conducted by the Rev. F. Youngson, of Sefton, who also preached, and the ordination was conducted by th e Bev. J. Pater ton, of St. Paul's Church, Christchurch, who also delivered the charge to the minister. The Rev. .N. L. D. Webster delivered the charge to the congregation. There was a large attendance. The Rev. T. B. Bickerstatf was presented with pulpit robes by the congregation. In the evening a welcome hocial was held. The Rev. J. Paterson presided over a ! arge attendance. Addresses of welcome were giiven by Mr J. Rutiedgo on behalf of office-bearers and congregation, Mrs Shaw for the ladies, Mira Cane for Girls' Bible Class, Mr L. Quartermain for the Men's Bible Slra* and Sunday, school, and Mr J, S. Poster. Mr bickerstaff replied, thanking tiie congregation for the pulpit robes and the heartiness of the welcome. He outlined his idea of work to be done. A vote °f thanks to the Moderat or, the Rev. J. Paterson, was proposed by Mr Shaw and Mr Sneddon and carried with acclamation. Musical items wrro given by Miss Paterson and Mr T. M. Charters. Supper was served in the school hall.
