DAMAGED MOTOR-CAR.
(press association ttlecram.) WELLINGTON, November 29. Judgment was delivered by Mr Justice Chapman at the Supreme Coprt to-day in an action brought by John Ashmole Taylor, merchant, against the City Corporation for the recovery of damages for the repair and reduced selling valuo of a motor-car which was struck by a trarncar in Lambton quay some months ago. Plaintiff was driving. his. car, and the machine was caught by a trarncar iind jammed against a* centre pi>lc. It was alleged that the tramwav motorinan had been negligent in not keeping a proper lookout. His Honour ruled that the motorman was guilty of negligence, and held that plaintiff handled the car jn conformity with the by-laws and dictates of traffic necessity. Accordingly ho gavo judgment against the Corporation for £156 lis 6d in respect oG-repairs, etc.. to the car. and for £2OO on account of reduced telling value of the machine.
