OBITUARY.
REV. JOHN MONRO GIBSON. (By Oaible —Press Association—Oopyriglit.) (Australian &nxl N.Z. Gable Association.) (Received October 14th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 13. The death is announced of the Rev. John Monro Gibson, m his eightyfourth year. [The Rev. J. M. Gibson was born in Scotland in 1838, and was educated chiefly in Toronto. He spent the first ten years of his ministry in Montreal, and from 1874 till 18S0 he was minister of the Second Presbyterian Church ;.n Chicago. Sinoe 1830 he has been minister of St. John's Wood Presbyterian Chuch, London. He was Moderator ot the Presbyterian Church of England in 1891 and 1915, and was President ot the National Council of Free Churches in 1897. He was the author of many works on religious subjects.] An old colonist, Mr Henry Newcomen Nalder,. died'at Otahuhu on Monday. Mr Nalder,. who was born at Bristol, England, had readied the advanced of 80 years. lie landed in Auckland in 1860, and entered the service of Messrs Cox and Brook field, solicitors. Two years later Mr Nalder started practice on his own account, and removed to Lyttelton, wi'nere ho remained for 45 years. He was a member of thq ■ Masonic fraternity, and took an active part in Masonic matters until a few years ago. Mr Nalder took a great interest In all branches of sport, and was a keen bowler He is survived by two sons, Mr E. E. Nalder, of Dalgety and -Co., Ltd., Auckland, and Mr A. G. Nalder. of Nelson, and two daughters, Mrs G.' Murray, of Mackenzie Conntrv So"th' Canterbury, and Mrs C. G. Major, wife of Mr C. G. Major, principal of King's College, Auckland.
