SUMNER ITEMS.
Forensic Club. The Forensic Club brought its season to a close this week, when the. Annual Smoke Concert was held. The gathering which took place in the Town Hall, was a thorough success,, the Mayor presiding over a good attendance. A lengthy toast list was gone through, those proposing or replying to the toasts being the Mayor, (Hon. John Barr, M.L.C.), Iter. W. McAra, Dr. Slater, Messrs A. J. T. Withers, R. McFarlane, J. M. B. Crawford, H. C. Jones, C. M. Roawell, J. E. Stevens, F. R. C. Neville Hall, Cv Forrest, H. W. Heslop, J. A. Booth, C. F. Allen, C. T. Middleton, and Superintendent J. Carter. Musical items were given by Messrs Allan, Withers, McFarlane, McAra, Neville, Stevens, and Crawford. Home Nursing. The Home Nursing Class met last Wednesday in the Committee Room of the Town Hall. A highly instructive lecture was given by the Lady Superintendent of the District on the care and nursing of the sick, especially that of a patient suffering from pneumonia. Cricket CluK A meeting was held on Thursday evening for the purpose of considering the formation of a Junior Crickafc Club in the borough. Mr P. Dick presided over a good attendance. After discussion it was decided to form a club and the following officers were appointed* President. Mr J. D. Lawrence; viceS residents, Messrs W. J. Hampton, C. [orris, F. H. Neville, J. M. B. Crawford; E. L. H. Brown, W. G. Black, P. Dick, and 6..- F. Allent hon. secretary and treasurer, W. Hampton: field captain, E. Allen; club captain, 0. Allen. It was decided to open the season at St. Leonard's Square on Dominion Day, when a match will be played against the local schools. .
