At ita concluding session, the Supremo Council discussed the disarmament of Germany. Marshal Foch. submitted a resolution which was unanimously adopted by the. inter-Allied Military Commission, proposing a continuation of the Commission's control, After a lengthy discussion, a resolution was adopted providing for maintaining the Commission, but contemplating a gradually progressive withdrawal,^'> > : The Supreme Council resolved- fa favour of raising the economic sanctions condit ; on«l on Germany meeting all her obligations By August 31st. The military sanctions will be maintained.^ Jjord Curaon declared that Britaia did not contemplate that the sanctions would remain in force three months after Germany's acceptance of the ultimatum. He suggested that Germany had given proof of her goodwill, and a terra should be fixed for occupation, with a progressive of troops. M. Briand justified continued occupation of German territory, on the ground that Germany had not yet displayed a. tendency to fulfil her obligations in respect of reparations without an Allied demonstration in force. France was anxious to abandon the occupation as soon as possible.
