CASUALTIES.
A boy named Fred. Newton, of Heathcote, fell over a twenty-fool bank while rabbiting on" the hills yesterday afternoon. He received severe bruises on the body and injuries to several ribs, and was removed to the Christchurch Hospital. HU condition, last night was low, but satisfactory. ' A fall from the balcony of the Zetland Hotel on Friday afternoon resulted in_ Frank McAtavey receiving severe injuries to the head, which necessitated his removal to the Hospital. His condition last night was unchanged. On being admitted to the Hospital on Friday night, suffering from injuries to his head, a man named Snell, a miner from Arthur's Pass, stated that he had been assaulted by. three men. (PBESS ASSOCIATION' TELEQHAH.) AUCKLAND, March 20. Arthur HoUrmd, aged 16* years, son of a farmer at Kimihia,, was thrown from a horse and killed instantaneously. DUNEDIN, March 26. Mrs Isabella Frew, aged 74 years who was knocked down by a tram car in the city on Thursday, died in the hospital to-day. , QUEENSTOWN, March 26. The regatta to-day was marred by a fatal accident. After the regatta nad started a swell rose on the lake, and several boats were swampod, Lachlan Russell Eraser, accd 22, of the Invercargill Rowing Club, beinji drowned. Attempts made to j«scue him were unsuccessful. At the itiquest a verdict of accidental death was returned. The Coroner commended the efforts at rescue made by 'Messrs Roach and McDonald.
