CAE DASHES OVER BANS.

(PBESS ASSOCIATION TEtEOBAU.) WELLINGTON, March 25.

One of the most dangerous hills in the Wellington district, the Paekaka-l-iki Hill, on the coast road, 27 piilea north of the city, was thfr scene of a motoring accident late yesterday afternoon, which resulted in the death of Harry Outrad, a draper, aged 42, residing at Hataitni, Wellington, and severe injuries to hia wife, Lilian Outrad, 82, and his son Outrad, with his wife and son, were motoring home from Hawera, and, when they were coming down the steep grade on tjie Paekakariki 'Hill, their oar left the road, and dashed down a bank. The car was overturned, and tho three occupants were thrown out with terrific forco.

Assistance was soon forthcoming, and it was obvious that' Outrad'9 condition was critical. Ho was quite unconscious, having his hoad and face badly cut about, and his right arm broken. The sufferers werft conveyed' to the Paekakariki railway station, where they were transferred to the New Plymouth express. On arrival in town, they were hurried to the hospital by motor ambulance. An operation was performed on Outrad, but he never regained consciousness, and died at 0.15 this morning. ' Mrs Outrad was found to be suffering from injuries to the head'and right leg, and the boy from a cut on the head. They were not in a critical condition this morning, and were doing as well as could be expected under the circumstances.

A GIBL KILLED. (FUESS ASSOCIATION TEIEGBAU.) WANGANUI, March 26. A shocking fatality occurred last evening, resulting in the death of Violet Campbell, aged 20 years. Misj Campbell and a young man named Adamson were walking along Dublin street, coming into town, when they were run over by a car driven by Mullins, a farmer, of Brunswick. The girl was killed, and Adamson injured, being dragged for a distance of a chain under tho car.
