The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club flew a young bird race "from Culverdcn. The winner wiia B. J. Finnegan's Sir Modred, vhich Cew the distance of 57 miles 1006 yards aar line iii 2lirs 3min 4Ssec. The following are th.e velocities recorded:—B. Finncgan's Sir Modred, 523 yards per minute; F. Smiw'e No. 's:i7, 727 jitrds "per minute; D. Doree, No. 153, 71G yards rer ruinutcj H. Henderson's No. 307, 695 yards per minute; W trimming's No. 111, 073 yards per minute; G. Robertson's Jvj. BG3 yards per nunuts; Woodlouse Bros.' No. 71, C6B yards per minute; landlord and Ithodes'a No. 338, GG6 yards per minute: A. Buckley's No. 44', (564 \ards per n.irute; H. AVilson's Audacity, (Mf> jiuds pec ntir.nlc; F. Wilson's No. 59, W7 jesds per minute; J. Falconer's No. 48, 419 yards per minute; E. Fuchs's No. 5£3, 418 yards per minute; F. Kingsford's No. 983, 337 yards per minute.
