Mr H. Nevill-Smith arrived back in New Zealand by the Moeraki from Sydney this week. Dr. P. Stanley Foster left yesterday for Mount Cook, where he will spend a short holiday. Mr Sidney Williamson, who has been on a lengthy visit to Great Britain and the Continent, returned to New Zealand by the Rimuta&a, and arrived in Christcnurch yesterday. Sir Heaton Rhodes, Minister of Defence, left for Wellington last evening. He will return on Saturday, and will accompany the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. J. G. Coates, on a trip to Banks Peninsula, on Sunday. The Rev. H. Nelson Wright, formerly vicar of St. Stephen's, Ashburton, ana at present vicar of the Otipua parish, Tiiaaru, has accepted the appointment of vicar of St. John's, Christchurch, in succession to the Rev. Canon Cocks.
