—« (press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, February i. The Pearc© divorce enso, •with the complications arising from the departure of the respondent, George. V. Pearce, formerjy M.P. for Paitea, with his daughter, Hazel, allegedly in direct contravention of the orders of the Court, was. finally disposed of to-day. Mr M. Myers, on behalf of Margaret Pearce, made application, for a decree absolute. His Honour the Chief Justice- (Sir Robert Stent) assented. Air Myers applied for custody of ono of the daughters, a minor, on the understanding thaitT the girl should b» entitled to spend alternate- week ends with her elder sister and at her father's house. The Chief Justice agreed. Mr Myers said, with regard to alimony, that Pearce had made provision in a. manner satisfactory to the petitioner, and therefore it was not necessary to ask for an order. Mr Trcirfv.-ell said that if his Honour c<neuckired that Pearce had, direcily or indirectly, infringed tho lights of the Court, he, on behalf of Pearce, wished to cxpceF.s sincere regret. Tho Chief Justice accepted this. He said that the sola reason the issue concerning contempt had been raisad was to enforce civil rights, and, these taint;' satisfactorily settled, and ihe defendant having cxpiessed rejret, -ho did not think it recesaary to say Anything, fiuthsr. •
