NEW BRIGHTON GALA.
The New Brighton Gala, which was postponed from last Saturday, will be held to-day, weather permitting. Tho numerous attractions, competitions, side-shows, and sporta outlined in the programme should assure the attendance of an unusually large numiber of •pleasure-seekers at the popular seaside resort. The proceeds will be devoted to the Beach Improvement Fund, in which all Christchurch citizens have a vita! interest.
