MARSHI/AOT-MAIREHATJ CLXJB. The series of road races conducted by the Marshland-Mairehau Cycling Clu'b was continued on Thursday evening, when a twelven.ile race,'starting at the Marshland School, was run off. There were 16 starters, and the . event was very keenly contested. Following l were tie principal results:—Phil O'Shea (tcr), riding time 33min 64e00, 1; M. G. Riordan '(SOsec), 34min 44 l-sso, 2; M. P. Delaoour (OOsec), 85min 24 2-ssec, 3; E. Puller (70seo)| 35min 6Bec, 4; R. GhiambeTlain (4smin), 38min 26seo, 5;• A. C. Clark (tain), 3€mini 67cec, 6; H. F. Prebble (70sec>, 86min 7 2-ssec, 7;' S. H. Cleaver (omin), SSmin 68sec, 8. The fastest time for the unplaced men waa made by E. Fuller. The first eight men finished very close together, only four seconds separating tiem. O'Shea, riding from scratch, unpaced, broke his previous week's record by 11 seconds. During the race L. E. Porter had a bad spill, end sustained severe cuts about the face. Ihe Management Committee met after the race, Mr A. B. L. Smith presiding. The secretary reported that Mr G. V'. Berg, of Dariield, bad promised a medal for the winner ofl the fastest time in the Derby race. Mr Berg was appointed' a vice-president, ilr M. F. Delacour was elected to the committee. The next race was fixed for Thursday next, starting at Meirehau.
