RENOWN MAGAZINE.

SOME FRANK COMMENTS. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, February 3. The "Sun" newspaper reproduces extracts from the magazine of the warship RSnown, Covering the visit of the Prince of Wales. The. magazine is published by- the Australasian Publishing Company, of Melbourne, and edited by Commander Rogers, but apparently largely written by LieutenantCommander Rolleston. The tone of tho magazine is extremely frank, and some extracts are decidedly racy. Referring to the Auckland visit, the magazine" says: "Auckland one might briefly describe as poor but happy, and verv ready to tell us to be happy. Wellington was solemn and restrained, and inclined to regard with grave suspicion any attempt on anybody's part to overstep its bounds of propriety to any slightest degree. Christchurch was also poor and happy, but suffering a little from British reserve." Another extract reads: "One must bo honest to be a historian of any sort, and at the risk of giving offence it must bo stated that we put Auckland harbour before Sydney for beauty, if not for utility, and Rip. of course, is immeasurably ahead of both." The magazine will bo on sale in Sydney to-day.
