Armstrong 1 has beon omitted from the Victorian team against England. No explanation has been given, but it is understood that ic is because he declined to play in the recent New South "Wales v. Victoria match. Armstrong was acquainted with tho news at Goulburn, en route to Melbourne from •Sydney, where ho has been resting. He refused to make arty comment, but stated that he woe proceeding to Melbourne with the object of playing in the match. (Received Februirrv 2nd, 9.15 p.m.) MELBOURNE. February 3. The Victorian selectors decline to make any statement regarding Armstrong's exclusion from the Victorian team to play England. One, however, stated that their reports on the subject would in due course be forwarded it-to the Victorian Cricket Association. Great indignation was expressed by the Victorian eleven. In tho Heathcoote Williams Shield match, Palmerston N. beat Waitaki by an innings and 161 rune.
