SALARIES OP CIVIL SERVANTS.
('Australian ar.<3 X.Z. Cable Association.) MELBOURNE. December 11. Mr "VV. M. Hughes has announced, that the salaries of the Commonwealth civil servants will be from a minimum of £126 to £203, with proportionate increases to £300; and also os allowance for each child.
SEAMEN'S UNION.
SYDNEY, December 11.. Notwithstanding the H''.'h Court injunction restraining Mr Thomas Walsh from acting as secretary to the Seamen's Union, the latter body has ridden its executive, and declared that it will continue to recogniso Walsh as its secretary.

BRITISH RAILROADS.

The railway companies rejected the Transport Ministry's proposal to accept workers elected by _ the workers as directors as unjustifiable, intolerable, and wrong in principle, because the workers would not accept financial responsibility to Bafeguarcl tho interests and rigjhts of shareholders.
JAPANESE SOCIALISTS.
