THE WEATHER.
A WET WEEK-END. ~ After Friday night's heavy fog, rain set in in Christchurch on Saturday morning, and has continued without intermission ever since. As a result of it, many outdoor fixtures down for decision on Saturday afternoon were postponed. The fine weather which has prevailed over North Canterbury during the last three weeks has now broken, and on Saturday morning a good, steady soaking rain besan to fall, which will be of great benefit. After a dense fog in the early morning at Ashburton on Saturday, steady rain set in, and continued throughout tho greater part of the day. A denso fog shrouded the Akaroa harbour on Friday evening. So thick was it at the Heads, that the Tutanekai. due on her periodic visit to the Lighthouse, postponed her call, and made her Avay slowly up the harbour. Tho fog was succeeded by a light drizzle, which settled down to a steady rain 011 Saturday.
